Saint Benedict Rocks!

It was great on Saturday to be able to speak to the Kingsbridge Christian Men's Breakfast on the subject of Saint Benedict and in particular Rod Dreher's latest book 'The Benedict Option - a strategy for Christians in a post-Christian nation.' Increasingly I am finding that this Fifth Century holy man has the ability (like Saint Francis) to cross denominational boundaries and give a common cause to evangelicals and catholics alike. It was also so very appropriate to have Johnny Pacner join us for the fellowship as Dreher's book draws out a lot on the Czech Catholic Church's resistance to Communism and in particular the idea of nonpoliticals politics and the parallel polis.
